Chain maille is not everyone’s cup of tea – but if you like it, you probably are obsessed with it. If you always wanted to try chain maille, here are some tutorials to get you started. The chain maille technique used to create the heart is called Full Persian 6-in-1 or commonly called Full Persian. Looking closely at the heart chain maille, you’ll see a continuous “V” shape. You can use 2 colors of jump rings to highlight the pattern of the “V” shape. The Full Persian Chain Maille is fit for beginners as you can quickly create a necklace or bracelet by just repeating the same pattern.

Many chain mail weaves are easy……once you get started. So here is a really simple solution to get you started on the Full Persian chain mail weave without tearing your hair out! I used 18G 1/4″ bright aluminum and bronze rings, a couple of wire ties and a stainless steel clasp. The two colors not only help with the instruction but also adds to the design. The bronze rings will patina to a darker color. Otherwise this piece is low maintenance and inexpensive to make.
