There are four types of spiral bead stitches and here are the corresponding free tutorials I found. The first two are video tutorials. The basic spiral rope one is by Teresa of TCBeads which I recommend for beginners. Karla, the instructor from Aunties Beads.com shows the second type, the flat spiral which is also very easy.

Spirals are on my mind. I am in the midst of beading my second Cellini spiral necklace. The first remains unfinished because in typical fashion I have run out of one of the burgundy beads (see photo) I was using to create it. Despite that minor set back I have found it very satisfying beading the changing shapes and colours of the Cellini spiral.

I had tried this technique before, without much luck. Since I am still on Christmas holidays, I decided to try again. I have to say that this time, things worked out much better than I had expected. I like beadaholique videos because I find that they are the easiest to follow and understand. So after watching the video about 6 times, while stopping and starting as I went, I think I got the main idea.

That’s my last creation! It’s a very simple pattern: the spiral rope. I’m finishing the video tutorial for it. The materials I used are seed beads sizes 8/0, 11/0, and 15/0; bicone crystals 4mm; drop beads 8x12mm; C-lon thread, size D.
