I have been fortunate to take classes on Right Angle Weave from Marcia DeCoster on three separate occasions. Whether you are new to Right Angle Weave or experienced, you will learn something new from Marcia every time. In fact, at one point during the first class I took with her, she told me I was doing “wrong angle weave”. I did not have the “second row” stitches sorted out in my head. That taught me that doing a stitch the wrong way can teach you as much as the right way. Enjoy these patterns:

Bangles are a big thing, especially in the summer, but not everyone likes the feel of a hard bangle but enjoys the look of one on their wrist. I prefer a bracelet closer to my wrist than what a normal bangle would afford me, I work in a place where it can get too easily caught on something and so a woven cuff provides me with the perfect solution. For the start of this pattern: one can use a right angle weave or use two needles: string seven beads with using a two needles and 1 4mm or 6mm bead and pass thru the 4mm or 6mm bead and pull together.

Anybody who is a fan of Right Angle Weave technique? Well, I am – be it Single Needle Right Angle Weave or Double Needle Right Angle Weave. It is a fun and easy technique in creating beaded jewelries. It was also the first beadweaving technique I’ve learned. What I like about flat Right Angle Weave is that you can embellish your beadwork in many ways, but what amazes me about this technique is a variation called the Cubic Right Angle Weave..

This is another bracelet that I’d been meaning to make for a long time. I had made two samples of it with 4mm pearls and also with 3mm pearls. At the time I thought I preferred the thinner, more delicate version with the smaller pearls but I changed my mind in the end. Although it’s a very simple design, I think it looks rather elegant. I used Deborah Roberti’s free “Crystal Chain” pattern but repeated the first motif for the entire length of the bracelet. Click HERE to download Deb’s pattern.

Add one 8/0 seed bead. Sew to the lowest 11/0 seed bead of the first row (red arrow). And sew to the 8/0 seed bead (blue arrow). 20. Repeat right angle weave from step 15 – 19. If you feel that your stitch is loose, you can sew back to tighten them. The peyote clasp will be covered in the next tutorial. ….
