If I had to pick one bead stitch and one stitch only, it would probably be spiral stitch. While it is easy, and can be fast, you can make it look different absolutely every single time just by using different sizes, shapes and colors of beads and seed beads. It is great for displaying pendents, art beads and stones around your neck.

Ever since I made my first spiral rope, I’ve loved to make beaded ropes out of seed beads and my favorite off-loom bead-weaving stitches, and with the new TierraCast Maker’s Collection of cord and rope ends with coordinating clasps, I was inspired to start stitching some new beaded ropes.

When I started with seed beads I followed various tutorials I found on the web. One of the first times I experimented and adapted a tutorial to my own design, these bracelets were the result. I’ve recently revisited the technique to make a new bracelet.

I have decided to write a tutorial on my favourite beadweaving stitch – spiral rope stitch. I love it because it is super simple and very rewarding. Who doesn’t like spirals? Anybody can do this, even those new to beadweaving or jewellery making all together. Now I don’t know about you, but I often have to read tutorials over and over again to understand exactly what I have to do.
