Bead crochet is so pretty, but I sure don’t get it. I’ve never crocheted or knitted and I even don’t like sewing – unless there are pretty, sparkly beads involved. I can sew them together all day long. So for you crocheters, here are some great tutorials and ideas. The Bead Crochet Jig looks interesting and I love the crab.

I’ve found another use for my crochet cotton thread – a beaded bracelet. It’s great for summer, when you might be getting sweaty, dirty, or jumping in the pool (sea, lake, whatever), because it’s washable – so you don’t even have to take it off.

When I was asked to teach classes in bead crochet, I knew there had to be a better way to make the first few rows, so that it was easier and faster to get to the fun part!! So I did a lot of experimenting and prototyping, and finally came up with the Starter Jig.

Crocheting with beads can be tricky. Many techniques call for adding the bead to the stitch as you go, which isn’t great for traveling, and the bead doesn’t sit nicely. In this technique, the beads sit nicely on the front loop of the piece, so we’ll be crocheting through the back loop only.

Turkish Flat Bead Crochet is easy and fun. A while ago posted this picture and got lots of requests for a tutorial. So here it is to celebrate the arrival of 16 new colors of C-Lon Tex 400 Bead Cord, bringing the total of colors of C-Lon Tex 400 Bead Cord to 72. That is truly amazing to have all these color choices. It makes working with this cord a pleasure.

Even if you’ve crocheted for a long time, using beads creates a whole new dimension. Here’s a little photo tutorial for how to crochet a bead rope. If this is the first time you’ve tried this, feel free to start with larger beads strung on yarn until you get the rhythm of it. It may save your eyesight (says the woman that diligently wore reading glasses while figuring this out)..
