Woven bracelets are one of my favorite things to make. They’re easy, they’re inexpensive, and they have such an organic feel to them. The mix of red seed beads and waxed linen in this piece reminds me of winterberries on a branch – which is one of the prettiest things about winter, in my opinion. (And after all, I know winter, here in Michigan… sigh.)

I’ve covered braiding before for jewelry designs. But here is one more sweet tutorial. The tutorial by Allis on her blog, Simply Allis will be useful to beginners. It was inspired by the original tutorial by ECab which was for a necklace and one I featured before. The basic design is good practice for using clam shell findings which is another reason for featuring this tutorial. It is also great for using up odd beads. There is no need to stay with a single color scheme either!

I made a bracelet to match a pair of chandelier earrings I made for a friend. I used purple seed beads, a ribbon charm, and butterfly charms for lupus awareness. Butterflies and the color purple are also used for domestic violence awareness, which is appropriate since October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
