Bead Pattern Miscellany (7/10/2015)
Some days, I just can’t find patterns for the topic I want to present. But I do stumble on other interesting patterns, so this time, it’s a jumble of projects. I love them all and can’t wait to make the Tennis Bracelet from Sandra Halpenny and the Rolly Bead. Enjoy!

Sometimes your outfit — or your mood — just doesn’t call for bold jewelry. Maybe your outfit is already the star of the show, and you just need something small and subtle to accessorize it. Or maybe you’re just not a fan of stand-out accessories. That’s where minimalist jewelry comes in handy. Minimalist jewelry is jewelry that’s simple yet beautiful. Perhaps it’s just a small pendant on a silver chain or a ring with one or two small beads for color.

Much of the bead crocheting comes out of Eastern Europe, so it’s a good thing that patterns don’t use a lot of words! If you search Pinterest for ‘bead crochet pattern’, you’ll find oodles! You can also search Etsy and you’ll discover a number of patterns. They vary greatly in complexity and size, but don’t worry… I’ll talk about all of that!

I saw a bracelet similar to this on a lady at our local bead society meeting. I kept admiring it and finally asked where she got the pattern. She had said she got it from the Beads Baubles and Jewels pbs web site. They had a tennis bracelet, but it was 2 rows wide and made with seed beads. On my Tennis Bracelet I did 1 row wide and changed the center beads to 3 beads wide instead of 2 beads. It works up fast and it looks like a real tennis bracelet. Sparkles like crazy!

Rather than post every bead I have made, in every post, I will keep this post updated with all of the patterns for the year! I will still make a post about each bead I make, but this is a good way to keep all the patterns in the same place! If you haven’t read my post “Inspired by the spice of life” click to check it out to see what all this is about!

I made some minor changes to the final version of this pattern since I last blogged about these earrings. I decided that I preferred not to have the accent color beads go all the way to the edge of the earring. So, I add 8/0 main color seed beads on the outer edge of each of the accent color rows and they form an outline or border around the accent color.

This pretty necklace is made using 4mm Fire-polished crystals, 11° seed beads and the new 2 Hole Chexx Squarelets. It curves beautifully around the neck, but would also make a pretty bracelet and you can make it in half the time. So if you want to add a bit of dimension to your necklace, you might want to try these new beads. You could also make this necklace using the new half Tila beads if you have some of those on hand.
